Canons DC40 is the companys top of the range DVD camcorder. As such it offers a good range of features and decent quality video to boot. The let downs come in the form of occasionally blurry stills, the lack of a microphone jack and a tendency to over-exp...

As with the Canon DC10 reviewed last year, the DC40 is ergonomically very good. The circular DVD imposes a naturally comfortable shape to the camera and most of the controls fall easily beneath your thumb or fingers. It?s wise to ensure the hand grip s...
Good Ergonomics, excellent range of presets and exposure options, manual focus, aperture, white balance. High quality Canon lens with large 4 megapixel image sensor.
Bad Lens not wide enough for normal use, movement artefacts especially when edited and recompressed, extremely slow MPEG2 encoding.
