Available in stunning 4K or 5K, the Retina display shines beautifully on iMac. With 1 billion colours and 500 nits of brightness, graphics leap off the screen. Text is razor-sharp. Binge-worthy programmes and blockbuster films have never looked more amazing. Graphics and games dazzle in exquisite detail. It’s simply the best Mac Retina display yet.
The world is full of spectacular colours, and iMac brings more of them to your screen. The Retina display uses P3 colour that shifts away from standard white LEDs to advanced red-green phosphor LEDs. That means all three colours — red, green and blue — are more equally represented and show off real-world colour with more balance and precision, bringing all your photos and content to life more vividly.
Faster than ever, iMac is now equipped with eighth- and ninth-generation Intel Core processors and the latest in high-performance graphics options. Storage zips along too, with the snappy and spacious Fusion Drive available in both models. Or you can configure iMac with up to a 2TB SSD. So no matter what you’re into, you can do anything you love on iMac. All at maximum velocity.
With ultra-powerful quad-core and all-new 6- and 8-core processors, iMac is a total tour de force. The 27-inch model now clocks Turbo Boost speeds up to 5.0GHz, while the 21.5-inch model reaches 4.6GHz. Which means you get more muscle when you’re using processor-intensive applications like Logic Pro X or Adobe Photoshop. Everything feels flat-out fast.
iMac features robust new Radeon Pro 500X series graphics that make everything you see even more extraordinary. The 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display is loaded with up to 8GB of dedicated VRAM. And the 21.5-inch iMac with Retina 4K display ignites with up to 4GB. Both deliver visual effects and 3D graphics that exhibit raw power in its most polished form.
For even greater graphics performance, Radeon Pro Vega GPU options are now available on iMac. Vega — the same graphics architecture found in iMac Pro — delivers an enhanced compute engine and utilises High Bandwidth Memory (HBM2). This doubles the memory bandwidth to the GPU, resulting in sizzling performance. And it allows iMac to tackle graphics-intensive tasks like 3D rendering or complex video effects in a whole new — and much faster — way.
Storage is about space. But it’s also about speed. A Fusion Drive gives you the best of both worlds. The apps and files you use the most are automatically stored on fast flash storage, while everything else moves to a high-capacity hard drive. From booting up to launching apps to importing photos, it’s faster and more efficient to do it all with Fusion Drive. It comes as standard on all 27-inch models, and as an option on the 21.5-inch model.
macOS is the operating system that powers everything you do on a Mac. It lets you do things you simply can’t do with other computers. That’s because it’s designed specifically for the hardware it runs on — and vice versa. And the latest version, macOS Mojave, brings new features inspired by its most powerful users but designed for everyone.
Your iMac works seamlessly with your iPhone. So whether you’re texting, snapping a photo, or copying and pasting an image, you can move between devices without missing a beat.
Powerful creativity and productivity tools live inside every Mac — apps that help you explore, connect and work more efficiently. Here are a few favourites.
iMac has always been the ultimate in form and function: an elegant, quiet, all-in-one computer that puts everything — display, processor, graphics, storage, memory and more — inside one simple, stylish enclosure. And thanks to its super-slim profile, it fits in anywhere yet stands out everywhere.
Two Thunderbolt 3 (USB‑C) ports come as standard on all iMac models, each delivering up to 40Gb/s data transfer for external drives and cameras and ample bandwidth for video and display connectivity. Four USB 3 ports give you plenty of options for connecting peripherals, including your printer, iPhone, thumb drive and more. And with ultra-fast three-stream Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth 4.2 wireless technology, you’re instantly connected to all your favourite content.
Thunderbolt 3 lets you add one 5K display to the amazing one already on your iMac. Or you can connect two 4K displays and put over 32 million pixels into play.
Magic Mouse 2 and Magic Keyboard pair perfectly with iMac and come included in the box. If you’re looking for extra functionality, Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad and Magic Trackpad 2 offer some impressive options.

In fact, it’s so good that, once you’ve bought one, it’s probably not something you’ll upgrade for a while. With the original 5K iMac coming up to its fifth birthday, however, could now be the time to move up the next level? If you were hoping for a revamp...
