As the first OEM to sell a phone running Android, HTC holds a unique position in the Android market. They are well aware of the operating systems strengths and weaknesses, technical ins and outs, and surely what the public has adored and despised in...

Killer virtual keyboard; Sense UI is inviting and full of wow; gorgeous 3.2", 320 X 480 display with oleophobic coating; design is sophisticated but makes a statement; 3.5mm headphone jack; 5MP cam; Teflon on select colors; Hero represents a new day for A...

You need to go without the Sense extras for a snappy experience; my browsing experience on EDGE was very slow (issue for running on unsupported carriers); video camera isnt even worth using; some people hate the chin and asymmetrical button layout.

I am as excited about the Hero as I was about the G1 at launch. I think this phone represents something big. I think it signals a sea change in the way people use their phones, and a major bump for the Androids profile in the eyes of the average cons...

When I fondled the HTC Hero for the first time a month or two ago, I was instantly floored. I mean, Android looked this bad ass? It was actually functional? The T-Mobile G1 was a non-starter for me, the HTC Magic (HTC variant) was a cool mess around de...

So what’s the wrap-up with everything that’s been said? It’s a really tough one. This for me personally was harder than just reviewing another Android handset to cross the desk because I really, really wanted this damn thing. Would I take it over the...

The Hero represents a valiant effort from HTC -- though unfortunately, the company appears to have bitten off more than its last-generation hardware can chew. If this build of Android were to be loaded atop the guts of a 3GS or Pre, the performance would...

There is a fairly standard montage in the canon of bad 80s movies. It involves the protagonist(s) working hard to build/do/invent something to beat the stuck up and dismissive antagonists. See, for example, Summer Rental, a John Candy vehicle in which...
