In a day and age where the terrors of war are conveyed stronger in online gaming than the 'News Of The World', it's easy to be desensitised to the bleak images and news on modern day conflicts. Log onto Live and you'll see soldiers jumping up and dow...

Great paced campaign, Smooth and fluid combat, Great set pieces, Nice online 'Battle Points' system...

Very short campaign, Not the prettiest looking conflict in this generation of consoles...

Hyped to the nines and promoted by THQ via the use of deliberately provocative images of a war-ravaged America, Homefront is a shooter that places Korea firmly in its sights as the bad guy. Probably the only really ‘easy target’ left for the more...

If THQ had removed the campaign, brushed up the multiplayer and halved the price, they'd have a smash hit...

The adaptation of multiplayer modes, concepts and methods from competing FPS titles is surprisingly robust.

Campaign is nonsensical rubbish. Multiplayer needs a bit more variety in maps and equipment. You'll need to download a massive patch before you can even play the game.

Quick review Full review Images (6) News Related Smirk all you like about Homefront - and you probably will - but at least it’s a game with ambition. It’s a game that wants to step into the ring with Modern Warfare 2 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 and...

Feels like you're playing a propaganda campaign, single player woefully short, helicopter level is poor, graphics questionable especially the character models...

There’s no getting past the shortness of the campaign, the sledgehammer approach to storytelling or the unpolished graphics, and while the multiplayer options are much better, they’re not quite good enough to make it a serious rival to Black Ops or Bat...

Since it was announced in early 2009, we’ve really been looking forward to Homefront. There’s something immediately appealing about a bleak, near-future shooter in which the US has been conquered by a brutal North Korean regime, and when you factor in...

Homefront has been a long time coming. Pinned as THQ’s triumphant first-person shooter, the buzz and hype around the game has been ample to prompt the publisher to admit that it already has plans for a sequel, even as this version is hitting shelves. U...

Homefront is solid, but the story never grips you like was hoped, and before you know it the end credits are rolling. The shooting is its highlight, but it needed an extra shot of something special. 7.0/10Print this pageComments (0)Share this pageNotic...

Anger is an energy and I think the anger in the air about four hours after the release of Homefront is still out there across America, just waiting for someone to tap into it. Twitter and Facebook took a heavy blow as if millions of voices cried out a...

New York games developer Kaos Studios doesn't have many titles to its credit. Frontlines: Fuel of War, which was released in 2008, is the developer's only other release but you wouldn't be able to guess that after your first full experience with the re...

It’s a task in itself when reviewing a military FPS not to draw inevitable comparisons with other such titles in the genre. There’s a vast shadow emanating from Activision HQ these days that first person shooters in particular find themselves cowering...

I really don't want to trash Homefront. Whenever a genuinely bad game comes around, the natural impulse for many writers is unchain their inner critic -- typically a once-annually event worthy of some note -- and tear the wretched thing to shreds. Last...

Multiplayer mode has potential.

Shamefully derivative; silly story.

Homefront is one of the most hyped games of the year; at least when it comes to press events and pre-release coverage, but where are all the ads? It’s been a few days since the game hit stores and I have yet to see a single commercial, and that’s a sha...

I've been excited for Homefront for a long time. Ever since it was revealed at E3 2009, I've been cheerleading pretty hard for this game. With a story penned by none other than the man behind Red Dawn, Homefront offered a truly visceral take on a specu...

My main "like" for Homefront is that it sets up a definite story arc right from the opening chapter and runs it through to the logical end point. "Logical" being relative in this instance because Homefront piles on so many "What if...?" sce...

Homefront creates powerful moments by swapping genre-standard military warriors and exotic locales for armed citizens and suburban backyards, but don't expect this impressive shooter to offer up the longest-lasting experience.Painting a real-life natio...

Very strong campaign packed with powerful imagery and atmosphere; diverse gameplay opportunities amidst the campaign; engaging tweaks on standard multiplayer conventions.

Abrupt conclusion and brief length keep campaign from true excellence; multiplayer options a bit thin compared to competition; occasional visual glitches can be distracting.

Unflinching representation of military occupation, Some very memorable moments, Wellcrafted online multiplayer.
